Hey folks, who wants in?

Leave your name and I'll do this:
1. respond with something random about you
2. challenge you to try something
3. pick a color that I associate with you
4. tell you something I like about you
5. tell you my first/clearest memory of you
6. tell you what animal you remind me of
7. ask you something I've always wanted to ask you
8. If I do this for you, you must post this on yours.

Good weather, tons to read and study, lots of great music to listen too... in some ways I'm in my prime right now.

I've already finished my final for my "evil" course, so now it's just study study study for the next few days. "Bucky" as James and I have been calling the guy, has deviously announced a very broad and vague set of examples for possible final questions, so I'm going to be doing a very great deal of reading here...

Right now though I'm going maaad with Phish! Shows from '94,'95,'96, and NYE '99 have been hitting me real hard. Everyone should hear some of the versions of Bathtub Gin, YEM, Harry Hood, Split Open and Melt and others that I've tracked down. Just retarded jams, super tight, unpredictable and incredibly exciting. Theres lots of free stuff here:
and here:

I was reading about the Green Apple festival in NYC. The line-up is pretty amazing, and it's like a ECMA/Junofest set-up through a couple dozen bars in the big city. If this thing becomes annual I think it would be a pretty incredible experience. Three days of intense party running around in a city as dense as NYC is one of those events that I would just have to get to eventually, no matter what. Heres the link:

Anyway, I'm off to smoke a little chiba-chiba and play some hacky - it's a BEAUTIFUL day out! Take care folks!

You can feel good, good about hood...

Hooray for LJ games!

Events for May 10

- 1941 - World War II: The House of Commons in London is destroyed by the Luftwaffe in an air raid.
- 1969 - The first "Zip to Zap" rural outdoor rock concert at Zap, North Dakota, is ended prematurely as North Dakota National Guard is ordered to disperse the unruly crowd.
- 1994 - The U.S. state of Illinois executes serial killer John Wayne Gacy for the murder of 33 young men and boys.

Births - A trio of great musicians

- 1946 - Donovan, Scottish musician
- 1946 - Dave Mason, English musician (Traffic)
- 1960 - Bono, Irish singer ( U2)

- 1774 - King Louis XV of France
- 1829 - Thomas Young, English physician and linguist
- 2003 - Milan Vukcevich, Yugoslavian chemist and chess problem composer

There was actually a number of intense WW2 related material (invasion of the Netherlands/Belgium/some other places, first book burnings, first bombs dropped on England, Churchill's election.) The second is an amusing bit of 60s trivia, and I put in the last more so because I love the Sufjan Stevens song "John Wayne Gacy, Jr."

The births are all pretty obvious, two late 60s masters and the voice of the Joshua Tree (and one of the more consistent songwriters of the last few years.) And the deaths include an ambivalent French king, a crazy polymath genius, and a chessmaster.

In other news Sunseeker's line-up is hot hot hot, things are smoothing into exam mode, CHEESECAKE, reading a lot about DMT, and keeping tabs on the labour dispute in France, Scooter Libby's antics in the states and the accelerating Liberal leadership race.

Right now tho I have to jet downtown to play some music. Hope everyone's enjoying the beautiful weather... SUMMER IS COMING!!!

An act of boredom really, but I like it better now than I used to, so that's a plus. Still tinkering a bit tho. We'll see what happens...
